Indiana Diabetes Statistics

In Indiana, it is estimated that in 2006 8.1% of the adult population had been diagnosed with diabetes.1 This is higher than the national average in 2007 of 7.8%.2 In fact, in 2008 Indiana had the 11th highest rate of obesity in the nation, with 63.2% of the people in the state obese or overweight.3
